Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
We finally have our first look at Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, or more specifically, Arthur Fleck. The Joker movie will focus on the origin of comics greatest villain, similar to the backstory provided in the famed Killing Joke graphic novel.

The released image on Phillips’ Instagram is captioned “Arthur”, in reference to the name he has given to his pre-Joker for this origin movie. More images were shown of Joaquin Phoenix over on JustJared.com’s Twitter. Check them out below.

Phoenix looks to be shaping up well into the role, especially if the behind the scenes pics are anything to go by.
The movie currently has no release date, however, Martin Scorsese is still executive producing with Todd Phillips on the directors seat. The film does not take place in the same universe as the DCEU (of which Aquaman is the next movie to be released), although, it is considered an elseworld story, which are common within comics.
