Raising Kratos is coming soon!

Sony has announced a brand new documentary based around the creation of God of War, which will air on the PlayStation YouTube channel. The PlayStation blog explained: “This full-length feature documentary, coming very soon to PlayStation YouTube, is an exploration into the massive undertaking it took to change the course of the God of War franchise.”

The official description states: “Raising Kratos documents the five year, herculean effort to reinvent one of the greatest stories in gaming, God of War. Facing an unknown future, Santa Monica Studio took a massive risk, fundamentally changing their beloved franchise and re-establishing their rightful place in video game history. More than just a ‘making of,’ this cinematic journey of second chances rooted in family, sacrifice, struggle and doubt follows game director Cory Barlog and those who chase perfection in art and storytelling. Witness the incredible defeats, the unpredictable outcomes and the down-to-the-wire tension on full display in this true-life redemption story.”

The documentary itself will feature game director, Cory Barlog and the team at Santa Monica Studios, as well as the actors for the main characters in the game such as Kratos, Atreus, and Freya.

Barlog clarified on twitter about the footage shown at the end of the trailer: “to all asking about the final shot in the trailer. That was the original pre-rendered teaser trailer for GOW 2018 we were going to hide on the GOW 3 remastered PS4 release. But we ran out of time to get it on the disc so it ended up getting put on the shelf until now.”

The latest God of War game was met with critical and fan acclaim, being labelled as ‘Game of the Year’ by many. The game is also available at a discounted price as it reaches its one year anniversary.
