Mission Delayed…
The original release date for the next Mission: Impossible film was July 23rd 2021, with the eighth instalment set for August 5th 2022. We now understand that both movies have been delayed, with Mission Impossible 7 heading for a November 19th 2021 release date, while 8 will be released on November 4th 2020. This is due to ongoing issues caused by the pandemic, including production delays.
Christopher McQuarrie is set to return to direct both movies after directing the two previous Mission Impossible’s. Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson will both return alongside series newcomer Hayley Atwell and a whole host of other cast members. There are at least two more Mission Impossible movies in the works, with Atwell set for at least one of the instalments and Cruise set for both.
Mission Impossible 7 will be released on November 19th 2021, while Mission Impossible 8 will be released on November 4th 2020.
