Heading Back to the Past!
The original Call of Duty Black Ops had one of the best story campaigns for a First Person Shooter, and this supposed reboot of the beloved franchise may follow the trend. Activision have official confirmed the long rumoured (and supposed reboot), Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. The original series was famed for its plot of espionage and brainwashing during the Cold War, and later games headed towards a future setting. It was also popular due to its Zombies mode, one of the most popular game modes in video game history.
Watch the trailer for the latest Call of Duty below:
“Know your history or be doomed to repeat it. Verdansk. August 26.”
The trailer confirms that the game will be based on/inspired by true events, but you may expect certain characters to return from previous Black Ops games in their newly rebooted forms, similar to how Modern Warfare handled their reboot this year.
More details will be announced in a showcase on August 26th, with a promise that Warzone will be a part of this next instalment of Call of Duty. The actual showcase may be a part of Warzone due to the reference of Verdansk in the description of the teaser, so make sure you keep your eyes set on Warzone on the 26th for a potential live event.
Treyarch and Raven Software are returning as developers for this instalment of Call of Duty Black Ops.
