Patrick Troughton Gets The Animated Treatment Once Again!
The BBC and 2 Entertain have confirmed that another acclaimed Second Doctor story will be getting an animated release, this time “The Evil of the Daleks”.
The Evil of the Daleks is the final story from the fourth Season of Doctor Who, and was broadcast as a seven-part serial from 20th May to 1st July 1967. It starred Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor alongside Frazer Hines as Jamie McCrimmon and Deborah Watling as Victoria Waterfield in her debut appearance.
The story details how the Doctor and Jamie end up in 1866 and are forced to assist the Daleks in an experiment to “humanise” them with the human factor. The Evil of the Daleks is another story that is mostly missing, but the existing episode 2 will also be restored for this release and feature alongside a photo reconstruction. This release will also contain the following:
- Remastered Surviving Original Episode 2 Telesnap Reconstructions – 6 episodes,
- Audio Commentaries Audiobook, with recorded commentary by Tom Baker,
- Making Of Photo Gallery.
The animation is due to be released 27th September and is available to pre-order on Blu Ray & DVD now, plus a steelbook variant has also been confirmed.
