Jared Leto will star and Daniel Espinosa will direct the newest Spin-off of Sony’s Spider-Man universe, following in the footsteps of Tom Hardy’s Venom.
Jared Leto is well known for both his roles in the film industry, as well as being the frontman for his band, 30 Seconds to Mars. Leto will also be reprising his role as the Joker in a DC comics origin movie. His role as the Joker has been controversial and divisive among fans since the release of 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Daniel Espinosa, may be recognised for his work as director of the Sci-fi thriller Life, which starred the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds.
Morbius will follow the story of Marvel comics antihero, Morbius the Living Vampire. The character of Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane, making his first appearance in Amazing Spider Man Issue 101 in 1971. This was the first Spider-Man issue not to be written by comic legend and Marvel co-creator, Stan Lee.
No release date is available right now, but we may see more at San Diego Comic Con next month.
