On July 24th, singer and actress Demi Lovato were hospitalised for an alleged overdose. “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction.” She was open to say. Last year she documented her struggles in a one hour twenty minute film named “Simply Complicated”, discussing her  addiction that she suffered with in the past, going to rehab in 2010 at just 18 years old. Her most recent single is  named “Sober”, the song mentions her sixth year of staying sober, which she also published a tweet about earlier this year, there were also suggestions of relapse.

Today, just under ten days later, she took to Instagram to release a statement explaining how much she appreciates the support her fans have given her and with the discussion of recovery. She states “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.” She ends her statement saying “I will keep fighting.”
