The official title for the 6th instalment of the Die Hard franchise has been revealed. “McClane” will be the name appearing in theatres at some point in the near future.
In an interview with Empire, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura revealed the new title, going on to also clarify that Bruce Willis (John McClane) will be heavily featured in the movie.
“I don’t know how you do Die Hard without Bruce… The idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version.”
This interview also confirms that two versions of the action hero will appear, McClane in his twenties and the Bruce Willis version we know today. It has also been confirmed that director Len Wiseman will return from the 4th instalment of the Die Hard franchise to direct this movie. Wiseman is also response for directing 2012’s Total Recall as well as the Underworld franchise starring Kate Beckinsale.
Carey and Chad Hayes of The Conjuring fame, are set to write the script for McClane.
McClane currently has no set release date.
