“Lex giveth, Lex taketh away.”
Superman’s greatest villain will appear in a recurring role in The CW’s Supergirl show. The DC comics villain has yet to be cast but will appear later this season.
“We’re beyond excited to introduce iconic villain, Lex Luthor, to Supergirl and to weave him into our story this season,” stated executive Producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. “We’ve talked about having Lex on the show since its inception and we’re excited to have him finally arrive. We can’t wait for him to shake things up in National City and watch him go toe to toe with not only Supergirl, but his sister Lena Luthor.”
Luthor isn’t slated to appear until after the ‘Elseworlds’ crossover between the Arrowverse shows.
Fans are hoping for the return of Michael Rosenbaum as Lex, a role he previously played in the Superman prequel show, Smallville.
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor and Jesse Rath as Brainiac 5.
Catch Supergirl every Sunday at 8pm ET on The CW. Supergirl is joined by Arrow on Monday at 9pm and Legends of Tomorrow, which begins its fourth season on October 22nd. The Flash and Black Lightning both air every Tuesday night.
