The animated Castlevania series has been renewed for a 3rd season, after recently airing its 2nd season on Netflix to critical and fan acclaim.
The series follows Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage), the last surviving member of the Belmont family, in his attempts to save Eastern Europe from Vlad Dracula Tepe (Graham McTavish).
The show itself is inspired by the video game series of the same name, but specifically adapts Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Dracula’s Curse was released in 1989 and follows a similar storyline to the animation, taking place in 1476.
It has also been confirmed that Netflix has ordered 10 episodes for the 3rd season, 2 more than Season 2’s 8 episode order.
The creative team behind the previous seasons are expected to make a return, with Sam Deats as director, popular comic book writer and author Warren Ellis writing and executive producing, and Adi Shankar, Fred Seibert, and Kevin Kolde all producing the season.
A release date is yet to be confirmed, but expect season 3 in late 2019.
