Negan’s former right-hand man and one of Rick Grimes’ most important allies, will be making the jump from AMC’s The Walking Dead to the spin-off ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ for Season 5. Dwight, played by Austin Amelio, will join former ‘The Walking Dead’ character Morgan Jones (Lennie James), who made the jump to ‘FTWD’ in season 4.
The news was confirmed by both Comicbook.com and Entertainment Weekly before The Walking Dead posted an official teaser on Facebook.

The teaser doesn’t feature any new footage but does confirm that Amelio will be joining the cast of Fear the Walking Dead next season. Dwight has not been seen at all in season 9 of the main series, with his last appearance being in the season 8 finale after being ousted by Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus).
Fear the Walking Dead stars Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clarke, Lennie James as Morgan Jones, Maggie Grace as Althea, Colman Domingo as Victor Strand, Garret Dillahunt as John Dorie and more.
‘The Walking Dead’ has also recently teased the introduction of comic book villains, Alpha and Beta, who will appear in the back half of the main show’s 9th season, returning February 10th on AMC.
