Legend of Zelda fans were left with big news as a remake of the 1993 Gameboy title Link’s Awakening was announced for the Nintendo Switch at the end of the latest Nintendo Direct.
The game itself has left opinions split however due to its unique art style, with some praising it for resembling the old game or simply being something new, whilst others have criticised it for looking more like a Rankin/Bass holiday special than a Zelda game.
This is the second re-release of the game, as it was given a colourised makeover with additional content back in 1998 for the Gameboy Colour in Link’s Awakening DX.
More news is sure to follow. The game currently has a 2019 release date.
