Star Wars will return in 2022 with a new trilogy!
Disney has announced release dates for some of their planned movies up to 2027, this comes after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Those plans include a brand new Star Wars trilogy, which will bring a return to the franchise in 2020.
The first of the new Star Wars trilogy will be released on December 16th 2022 and will be followed up by two sequels releasing December 20th 2024 and December 18th 2026.
The release dates for all of the Avatar sequels have also been announced, with the final instalment, Avatar 5, set for a December 17th 2027 release date. Avatar 2, however, will release on December 17th 2021.
Disney has announced two Marvel movies slated for May 1st 2020 and November 6th 2020, with three more untitled films planned for both 2021 and 2022, dates found below. Expect Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to take a later release slot due to Gunn’s involvement with the new Suicide Squad movie.
A revised release date for the X-Men spin-off, The New Mutants, is set for April 3rd 2020; while a release date for an untitled Indiana Jones movie has received a July 9th 2021 release date, with Harrison Ford rumoured to be returning.
Kingsman is also set to return on February 14th 2020. All announced release dates can be found below, including an abundant amount of untitled animated Pixar movies and live-action:
