Fatality!
New Line’s movie reboot for the Mortal Kombat franchise has found its Sub Zero in The Raid’s Joe Taslim.
The character of Sub Zero is one of the most recognisable characters in gaming history, being one of the original Mortal Kombat characters and, alongside Scorpion, a frequent star of the franchise since 1992.
Aquaman director James Wan and his Atomic Monster banner are producing the movie, with Simon McQuoid making his directorial debut in movies. Larry Kasanoff, E. Bennett Walsh, Michael Clear and Sean Robins will be executive producing, while Todd Garner will also act as a producer.
Screenwriter Greg Russo confirmed on Twitter that the movie will be R-Rated and will feature ‘Fatalities’ on screen for the first time.
Since it’s already been stated by other members of the team, I’m gonna put this one to bed. MK WILL be R-Rated and for the first time EVER, FATALITIES will FINALLY be on the big screen (and no I’m not gonna say which ones) You’ll just have to wait for the movie & see!!! 😉 pic.twitter.com/aVTewH4t28
