The statement informs fans that the game is currently complete and playable, however, “there’s still work to be done.” The developers want more time in order to playtest and polish this game so that it can be the “crowning achievement for this generation”. That is a big statement coming from the developers of arguably one of the greatest video games of all time, The Witcher 3.
They want to focus on making a perfect product and have received a wave of support for the decision online, with many stating that only good things can come from delaying the game to polish the contents. Others were in support of moving the release away due to other big games, such as Doom Eternal, also releasing around that time.
