The Long Halloween…

Matt Reeves’ The Batman has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic; fans will have to wait a bit longer for Robert Pattinson’s first stint as the Dark Knight. The Batman will be released in October 1st 2021 as opposed to its June 21st 2021 date.

The studio has shifted all DC releases around by about 4 months to allow more time for filming and production. An October release makes sense since the movie is supposedly influenced by The Long Halloween storyline from the comics. Joker was also released in October, proving that a comic book movie can do well in the Halloween period.

Matt Reeves is most well known for directing the previous two entries in The Planet of the Apes franchise, which was both met with hugely positive critical and fan acclaim.

Robert Pattinson stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman, joined by an exciting cast featuring Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.

The Flash will now be released on June 3rd 2022 from its original date of July 1st 2022, moving it forward a month. Shazam 2 will release on April 1st, 2022 from November 4th, 2022. Wonder Woman 1984 will now also be released on August 14th 2020, it was originally set for a June release.
