Another one bites the dust…
Only a week after Iron Fist was cancelled by the streaming giant, Netflix has again cancelled another Marvel series. Luke Cage starred Mike Colter as the Power Man himself, first introduced in Marvel’s Jessica Jones inaugural season.
Marvel Television and Netflix have released a joint statement on the situation, “Unfortunately, ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’ will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”
While Luke Cage season 1 was met with mixed reviews, especially aimed at its stumbling second half, season 2 was seen as a vast improvement.
Fans are now speculating as to why both Iron Fist and Luke Cage were cancelled, leading to conclusions of a new ‘Heroes for Hire’ series, or a dispute involving Disney’s new streaming service.
In other news, the 3rd season of Daredevil has just been released on Netflix, check it out now.
