It has been confirmed that the missing Doctor Who serial The Macra Terror will receive an animation and a DVD/Blu Ray release.
It is a second Doctor story starring Patrick Troughton alongside Anneke Wills, Michael Craze and Frazer Hines which broadcasted in four weekly parts from 11th March to 1st April 1967. It is an unfortunate example of the BBC policy to wipe unused tapes in order to save money and space.
The story, however, has survived as a complete audio recording which means that over 50 years later, Who fans will finally be able to watch the serial via animation.
The serial will be available on DVD, Blu Ray and in a Steelbook, as well as on digital download and in both colour and black and white, from March 18, 2019.
