Winter is still coming!
The first teaser trailer for the final season of HBO’s hit fantasy show, Game of Thrones, is here. The trailer shows off… nothing new, and may leave fans, hoping for a small glimpse of the next season, disappointed. However, this could mean a full-length trailer may release soon, although there is no confirmation of this.
Check out the short teaser below…
The final season completed initial filming back in July. This season will only have six episodes but will compensate by having each one be over an hour long, which hopefully will keep up the pace as it all comes to an end.
While Game of Thrones will soon be gone for good, a prequel series is in the works. HBO has described the sequel as, “Taking place thousands of years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ the series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East, to the Starks of legend … it’s not the story we think we know.”
Naomi Watts has been cast in the lead role for this prequel series. HBO has described Watts’ character as, “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret”. Her character has yet to be named, leading many to believe that the role will reference a major family in the Game of Thrones universe.
Game of Thrones is adapted from the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ book series, by writer George R. R. Martin.
The 8th and final season will air in April 2019.
