HBO has just released its first official (tease) trailer for the 8th and final season of Game of Thrones. The final season is to be named ‘Crypts of Winterfell’. The official set date for the return is on April 14th as announced alongside the trailer.

The tease has already hit number one on YouTube trending with almost 5 million views in 24 hours. #ForTheThrone is also trending on Twitter with fans of the series tweeting their confusions, worries, excitement and a whole lot of memes.

The video is one minute and forty-five seconds long and shows Jon, Arya and Sansa all walking through the crypts approaching three statues of themselves. As they approach the statues they hear voices from people who are no longer around. The trailer comes to an end when frost/ice comes sweeping into the crypts behind them, hogging the floor like fog, Arya and Jon immediately withdrew their swords as if they were ready to fight for their lives.

As previously stated by the CEO of HBO, Game of Thrones will accommodate six episodes in the eighth season. He followed up by saying “everybody is in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production.”
