“You’re special Jean.”

A new trailer for Dark Phoenix has been released, promising an eventful and tragic storyline for comic book fans.

Following the critical disappointment of X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix will adapt a darker storyline in Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s “The Dark Phoenix Saga”.

Unlike the last time this story was adapted in X-Men: The Last Stand, Dark Phoenix appears to be taking different approaches, including the implication of a certain character death.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix releases on June 7th 2019.

Dark Phoenix is being directed by Simon Kinberg who worked on previous X-Men films and will maintain the cast from Apocalypse with James McAvoy (Split) and Michael Fassbender playing the iconic Professor Xavier and Magneto respectively, whilst the title character is portrayed once again by Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) in her first lead role.
