Daniel Craig’s supposed final outing as James Bond and the titular character’s 25th instalment has just received an additional boost.

Oscar-winning star Rami Malek, famed for his recent portrayal Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody and his main role in the hit-show Mr. Robot, has joined the cast and will be taking on a villainous role. The role has been described as follows, “a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Rami Malek will be joined by Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel), Billy Magnussen (Black Mirror), Ana De Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Dali Benssalah and David Dencik (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy).

The movie will also be co-written by actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Killing Eve), Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who are both former Bond writers, alongside Scott Z Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum).

The movie will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who directed the acclaimed first season of True Detective.

Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Jeffrey Wright, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear and Daniel Craig are all expected to reprise their roles from past movies.
