Doctor Who Season 23 Blu Ray Confirmed!

The BBC has confirmed that the next Doctor Who Season to receive its Blu Ray debut will be Season 23! The set will (fittingly) be released on 23rd September 2019.

An official trailer has also been released, as seen below, which features some familiar faces:

The description for the set states: The next chapter in these definitive collection boxsets sees the Doctor (Colin Baker) on trial for his life, with the court examining his adventures with companion Peri (Nicola Bryant) and looking to his future escapades with new companion Melanie (Bonnie Langford).

This season saw the return of popular villain Sil, along with The Master, the towering robot Drathro and the plant-based Vervoid monsters, with the Inquisitor (Lynda Bellingham) overseeing the proceedings, it was The Valeyard (Michael Jayston) who proved the greatest threat, hiding his own sinister motives for wanting the Doctor’s downfall.

Season 23 covered a season-long story arc known as “The Trial of a Timelord” which saw the Sixth Doctor (Colin Baker) put on trial by his own people for meddling in the affairs of other planets and alien races. It would sadly be Baker’s last season before Baker was fired from the role.
