In case you missed it…

Following on from earlier in the year wherein The Faceless Ones was confirmed for a 2020 release, another missing Doctor Who story will be given the animated treatment in the form of 1968’s Fury from the Deep.

The new animation was announced with a teaser trailer at MCM Comic Con on 27th October during a panel about the missing episode animations.

Fury from the Deep is another Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton) story from Season Five, and also features companions Jamie (Frazer Hines) and Victoria (Deborah Watling in her final story) as they tackle a parasitic seaweed creature that’s terrorising the inhabitants of Gas installations.

Currently, all that exists of the story are censor clips that were previously cut from an Australian broadcast. These showcase two men possessed by the evil seaweed in what is one of Classic Whos’ most iconic moments.

Though a concrete release date has yet to be given, Fury is expected to also release in 2020, and Steelbook, Blu Ray and DVD editions are now available to pre-order.

Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
