The Force is Everywhere!

During Disney’s Investor Call, they announced that over 10 Star Wars series (& 10 Marvel Series) would be coming to Disney Plus in the next few years. The following details show each of these announced series with trailers where necessary:

Rangers of the New Republic will take place during The Mandalorian’s timeline. Not much else is known about this project as of yet.

After her appearance in The Mandalorian, Rosario Dawson will be returning in the role as fan favourite titular character Ahsoka. The character was originally introduced in The Clone Wars animated series to fan acclaim. Ahsoka’s series will take place around the time of her appearance in The Mandalorian.

Diego Luna returns as Rogue One’s Cassian Andor in this sizzle reel/trailer for the Disney Plus series, Andor. The series will take place before Rogue One and will follow the titular character.

The previously announced Obi-Wan Kenobi series, starring Ewan McGregor, also recieved some news in the form of a major returning character. Hayden Christensen will be returning as Darth Vader in the series, set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith.

A new animated series is on the way, based on characters from The Clone Wars series. The Bad Batch will return in this Lucasfilm Animation series on Disney Plus. They will seemingly be joined by Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec previously featured in The Mandalorian.

Star Wars: Visions will bring forth stories from the Star Wars universe in an anime style which will appeal to some fans of the genre. The series is set to debut in 2021 on Disney Plus.

The galaxy’s favorite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for Disney Plus. Justin Simien is in the early stages of developing the project. It is currently unknown whether Donald Glover or Billy Dee Williams will return for the role, or whether we will see a new actor portray Lando.

Leslye Headland brings a new Star Wars series to Disney Plus with The Acolyte. ‘The Acolyte’ is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.

Lucasfilm Animation is teaming up with Lucasfilm’s visual effects team, Industrial Light & Magic, to develop a special Star Wars adventure film for Disney Plus, A Droid Story. This epic journey will introduce us to a new hero guided by R2-D2 and C-3PO.

It was also announced that Taiki Waititi will direct a currently unknown feature project that is in development, alongside Patty Jenkins who will be helming the recently announced Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie.

There is a lot of news to unravel here, but many of these series are in early development and are still a few years away. In the meantime, catch The Mandalorian on Disney Plus and get excited for the future of the Star Wars universe.
